The project is the construction of
a 490 m. long and 42 m. wide bridge
supported by tubular steel piles.
The It also covers the rearrangement
of Eminonu and Karakoy squares at
each end of the bridge.
The New Galata Bridge comprises
four distinct segments; abutments,
double-deck approach bridge, caissons
being the piers of bascula bridge,
and bascula bridge.

The deck consists of three parts,
two of them having 193 m. length
are supported by tubular steel piles.
These spans are prestressed reinforced
concrete double deckers, the upper
deck is for the traffic and the
lower one is for shopping and sightseeing.
The middle part opening bascule
span is 81 m long.
